Job Description

Gananda Central School District is seeking a dedicated Elementary Math Intervention Teacher who believes that every learner matters and flourishes in a community where everyone belongs. Through personalized, data-driven instruction, this educator will provide targeted mathematical support to students requiring additional intervention while collaborating closely with classroom teachers and families to ensure equitable access to high-quality learning experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Targeted Math Instruction: Provide small-group and individualized math intervention using evidence-based practices aligned with NYS Next Generation Learning Standards.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Analyze screening tools, progress-monitoring data, and classroom assessments to identify student needs and adjust instruction.
  • Equitable Access to Supports: Ensure all students have access to intervention services, prioritizing culturally responsive and inclusive practices.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Partner with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to support student growth and two-way communication.
  • Personalized Learning: Design learning experiences that honor student identity, readiness, and learning style.
  • Progress Monitoring: Maintain accurate records, track growth, and communicate results clearly to staff and families.
  • Professional Learning: Engage in ongoing training related to intervention strategies, equity, and Gananda’s portrait of a graduate.
  • School Culture & Community: Contribute to a vibrant, inclusive school community where students feel supported, valued, and empowered.

 

Job Qualifications
  • New York State Certification in Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Students with Disabilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of math intervention frameworks, including RTI/MTSS.
  • Experience using data systems for screening, diagnostics, and progress monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of culturally responsive-sustaining education practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusive learning environments, and student empowerment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a warm, student-centered approach.
