| LTS 6th-Grade ELA | | Gananda Central School District is seeking a dedicated, student-centered 6th Grade English Language Arts Long-Term Substitute Teacher to provide instructional continuity during a temporary teacher absence from September through November. - Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned 6th grade English Language Arts instruction.
- Follow established curriculum, instructional plans, and expectations to provide continuity of learning during the long-term assignment.
- Develop students' skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, language, and critical thinking.
- Differentiate instruction to address a range of student abilities, learning styles, interests, and needs.
- Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel a sense of belonging.
- Maintain high academic and behavioral expectations while providing appropriate supports to help students meet those expectations.
- Use formative and summative assessment data, student work, observations, and other evidence to monitor student progress and adjust instruction.
- Provide timely, meaningful feedback to students to promote continued growth.
- Support students in becoming independent, confident, and reflective learners.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with students and foster a classroom culture that encourages participation, collaboration, and risk-taking in learning.
- Collaborate with the 6th-grade team, ELA colleagues, special education teachers, ENL staff, counselors, and other support personnel to meet individual student needs.
- Participate in grade-level, department, team, and professional meetings as assigned.
- Communicate appropriately and professionally with families regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
- Maintain accurate records related to attendance, student performance, grades, assignments, and other instructional responsibilities.
- Integrate appropriate technology and instructional resources to enhance student learning.
- Follow all district policies and procedures related to student safety, supervision, confidentiality, and professional conduct.
- Contribute positively to the Gananda Middle School community and support the district's mission and vision.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or designee.
